Star Wars Battlefront PC controller issue

Game works fine from keyboard, but I can't get the controller configured. Using Logitech Extreme 3D controller. It works fine in Windows when I test it in the Control Panel, Game Controllers. But all that work when I launch the game and try to use it are the X and Y movements (essentially the joystick functions). None of the buttons respond. I have tried setting up the controls from within the game under Options. I have also tried building a game profile under the advanced options of the profiler in windows. No luck so far. Anyone got any tips or ideas??? Thanks!
