Need help making a copy

OK, so, i want to make a backup copy of starcraft and the expansion, brood war, i want to make it just for safety purposes (its legal when you have the original.. or is it?) and to be able to play my brother on linking, i tried sonic burner, but it said cannot read from disc, since its scratched (?), and then Nero 7 said cant read (?) the cds aint that scratched. Personally, i suspect that i have to bypass a copy protection, can anyone help me on this? maybe suggest a burning prog that bypasses the protection, or another way to burn it? i have been on this for weeks, and then found this site.. hope you guys can help.. ill see you tommorrow, i gotta go to bed, gnight!

I assume the discs work fine installing them? If not, then you need to either get a disc resurfacer or buy them again. Try ripping the image using Nero.
