Setting up Windows Backup in Server 2003

Hello all,

I have a question in regards to Windows Server 2003 and the included Windows Backup utliity. I was looking to schedule Windows Backup to do one full backup a week and incrementals the rest of the days. This will all de dumped onto an external USB 2.0 drive.

However, if I set it up so that Windows Backup will replace the full backup and incrementals, I will only ever have one full backup copy in a given month instead of 4 separate full backups.

I suppose my question is, does Windows Backup have the intelligence to dump a full backup into a new file or will the original full backup file always be overwritten? I'd like a way to be able to have at least 4 full backups per month before the oldest is overwritten the next full backup and so the hard drive doesn't fill up with backup files.

I know this can be done with 3rd party backup software, just wondering if Windows Backup has this ability?
