Posted by: Canis Lupus

Hehehe, I don't think the Suspects are accepting any new members for the past two years now... Thanks for the interest tho - you're still part of OTS, which is just as good

come on laggy, get with the program. i'm getting awfully sick of seeing "I feel like Rip Van Winkle" everytime i want to see the latest US news!

Posted by: Scav

he is really serious about that feeling. Its not something he can control!

Posted by: uh...ok

wachief, the rule with US is that you don't ask to be in. cause that disqualifies you immediately.

And although the US is still around and alive, they don't do anything anymore hehe...

Everyone's on EverCrack or UO...

Hey that's my initials!

hehe im confused hehe

Correction, you mean most of em are not in BNET anymore, hehehe ... everyone else is playing different games, but they're around, and doing things they still do best - play games

Posted by: uh...ok

I thought it was helping people... not playing games... games was just a side thing wasn't it?

I thought it was HELPING PEOPLE!!!

And NOW YOU TELL ME IT'S NOT!!!???

*idealism shatters*

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

*runs around screaming, "It's the end of the world!" *

-uh...ok

Posted by: Canis Lupus

"OTS" is about helping people Suspects just want to have fun, ehheeh...

You can staple your idealism back uo ... you were just mildly confused there

Posted by: uh...ok

LOL... well, whatever the US was created for (and you're probably right... [I know, you're definitely right, but "probably right" sounds better] it was created for fun...)... what really impressed me was the message it had of friendliness and helping each other.

The experience that got me into "admiring" the US was from a chat in OTS a long while ago... (as I have mentioned this before). A member of the US had passed away due to a sudden, unexplained heart attack... I'm sure some of you remember the name. But a few members of the US were talking about it in OTS, and someone mentioned that they were going to get a collection to send to the wife of the person who had passed away... because he had left behind a wife and a lot of kids.

This was probably the first "tight-knit" Internet community I found... and it was Battle.net too!!! But anyway, yeah... that's why I've always considered the US as the #1 helping people group.

Besides, they've got REV. LOL.

first of all who is US? and ive seen other close knit groups out there in chat rooms aod knows what im talking about (my moms sht) ewwwwwwwwwwwwww ahhhh i just think i found out what your talking about US is usual suspects hehe now im confused will some1 clue me in? hehe

Posted by: EOT(US)

Uh...ok, your right & your memory is very good. One of our finest moments was when we were able to help out "one of our own" .... in "real life". It is that spirit that has kept US alive for 4+ years. How many other "groups" can say that?

EOT(US) & proud!

Posted by: Foogar

I was going to go off and build a silly little web page of my own in a few days but this will do. Laggy, anyone else involved, if you want my help you've got it. Just let me know. Maybe this time we can get a members list up with optional contact info?

Posted by: Chako

I know I have been gone for some time, popping in and out in the last few years. I hear in the "General/Off Topic" under the thread "Usual Suspects", that a member has suffered a heart attack and died. Is this true? If so, who was it. Tell me it wasn’t Laborat. I knew he had some heart problems, and hope he is well and OK. Just posting for some clarifications on the matter.

Hi Chako,

I wanted to let you know that The Usual Suspect, that has been mentioned, was Hal Copple aka "Lexifard/Yomamma"
(Sept. 16, 1959 - Sept. 9, 1998).

There were "serveral" members of The Usual Suspects that stepped forward and offered their assistance, in many different ways, to his widow "Josie", and their 5 children, following his sudden death. I am sure there are several other Suspects that can add information to this also.

Now .... as far as Laborat ... Wolf and I are REALLY looking forward to meeting him in Los Angeles, in May

Ellen

P.S. Laggy! pffffft! We still do "stuff"! We are coming to Los Angeles ... to see YOU are we not? hehe

Posted by: Chako

Thank you for the response Ellen. I was not aware that He had passed away. I can remember Yomamma clearly in the OTS channel many years back, and am glad that other members of US took part in helping his family. As for Laborat, I am glad he is healty and kicking.

Hi all Wolf here
Couldnt help but respond to this thread. I notice there is interest in what and who the Suspects are or who they were
I am one of the Original 6 founders who started the Usual Suspects, Ravenstorm, Askew the Pure, Anakin Skywalker, Sizlis, Asmoadi, And me, The Wolf.
It was formed first for a small group of players in Diablo when it first came out, for safe people to play with. It was also started to form a solid group of not only players but also friends, and I do mean real friends whom would drop what they were doing at anytime and come to the assistance of a member in trouble, not only in games but also in real life. Such as Lexifard, he wasnt even a member of the Suspects, but was being played with and talked to, to see if he would like to be invited into the group. When he passed on we got the word that he had left a wife and 5 kids whom had very little. So a few of US rallied together and sent our respects to the family and also sent her close to a thousand dollars to help her out a little. I will not name names because there were a few who didnt want to be listed for there own private reasons. I can say that the turnout of the suspects overwhelmed her and myself also. On a final note on this, LEXIFARD was made a Member of the Suspects just after he had passed away, There is a word for this but I cant remember what it is. As a result his wife was also a member, she had said in chat one night that it was His wish to be invited into the Usual Suspects and he would have been honored and she knew he was. WE were just a little bit late, for which I have never forgotten. When we first started I put a web page for the Suspects, and as time grew on I had a few health problems etc and asked for someone to take over the site. Laggy responde immediately and so I turned over the site to him and Anikin. If any of you have seen the site before it went down for awhile, I think you will agree Laggy did a helva Job and we were all proud of him for his loyality and his hard work and boy has he gone wild with this site,Congrats Laggy Good Job, My Friend.
OK now on to what we have done, We first started the gatherings in LA, then on to Las Vegas, then another in Beverly Hills, one is Sacramento and the last one was in Houston Texas. Always a good turn out and a lot of hell raisen and fun. Not to mention the meeting face to face with people weve played with for years. I think the next one after the ots thing In LA in May is going to be on the east coast, Maby Chicago again. I remember the first time we meant Laggy , He was more excited about meeting Ellen of troy (my wife) than me, whats up with that? Hahahaah.
I know this is getting long so I will hurry, We are all still out here and still a group, just doing different things at the time waiting for the next kickass game to draw US all back together. We thought Diablo2 would be it but it wasnt . A lot of us still keep in touch through the suspect part of this site, Icq, messenger etc.
If any of you will go to the Suspect Site there is a place to click on that explains More about who we are, and what is expected of each other. I think that link still works along with another about when laggy took over the site.
Thanks for your time if you have read this far, I thank you

Have fun, Fight well, and live long
The Wolf (US)
PS Also would like to mention at a LA gathering there was a couple people who couldnt afford the plain tickets at the time, So guess what? the tickets were mailed to the parties and they did get to come. Thanks to The Usual Suspects.

man, i'm shocked! one of US died 3 years ago and i didn't know a bit at all was i even a member of US back then ? i think so, but i don't remember (baad badd memory i have. i even forget my dad's birthday and anyone else's but my g/f's in that case).

but i do remember lexifard/yomomma. although i didn't really know him as good as i know most of you.

i'm a bit depressed now, because my long-time-no-see-friend's mother just passed away a few days ago and i couldn't make it to go to her funeral to deliver my last (what's the word in english ?) respect/honor (???).

oh well, at least lexifard was lucky to have US on his side. and for that, i salute you all fellow US! i've never been this proud to be a member of a group before.

Posted by: TotalRecall

I wasn't around when all of this happened. But, I have a broader idea and knowledge of what the US are now.

I have a horrible memory also Xenomoff. In fact, I almost made a rant about that, but it seems rather selfish. I can't remember words or dates. For instance, I'll forget meanings and things i've heard recently, sometimes around 5 minutes ago. Hah, birthdays... I have a hard enough time remembering mine.

Posted by: TheeMon

hehe on the subject of forgeting things... i can talk to you in rl and not even relize i said what i just said... or sometimes i just plain forget what were talkin about or i forget things that i SHOULD know like what i eat raveolli (chunky meaty things in suace) a spoon or a fork... or if i put salt on them or not... or what peoples names are or where im at (sometimes not alot though) or i could stop mid sentance and totally forget the whole conversation we've just had hehe and tons more sht hehe

Posted by: TotalRecall

That appears to be more of a thing where you aren't paying attention, Theemon. I am really trying to remember, but I just can't.
