Has anyone seen the teasers for Trail Mix on Animal Planet? A show about country stars and their horses? Next it’ll be Rock Opera heroes and their little yappy dogs. I guess Joe Perry is supposed to be on Trail Mix, so he’s not country. I love TV like this, I wonder if they realize how much of the audience will be watching just because they can't believe that this sort of thing is on TV. Here's a link to it:

There is a huge audience for stuff like that, come on people, why do you think the Ozbournes was so popular, it was all those cats!
Seriously though, I don't think that there will be many viewers period, there is some stuff that is entertaining to make fun of, and there is some stuff that just isnt worth your time. I think that this show would fall under the latter category.

I dunno, I'll be watching it. I do like animals and Animal Planet, but that's not the reason I'll watch it. It's not even that I want to make fun of Trail Mix, it's just that I want to examine how our complex society has led pop culture to a celebreatlity horse show. Maybe I don't actually need to watch it to do that...

The residents of the local nursing home love the Animal Planet. My dad loves it too, but then he's 88.
Fortunately for me we can't get it here, the town government won't allow us to have cable tv.

Overthrow the town government.

Sometimes I watch Americas funniest animal vidoes or something like that... They can be pretty funny.

The town government won't let you have cable? Why? Hm. I have satellite TV. It's nice. It's funny when it rains hard and gets all garbly. I'm actually surprised how much weather that little thing can withstand.
I like animals and I like funny. I think that Trail Mix link is broken I went back and couldn't find it. You can use www.animalplanet.com it's on there.

you can solve the rain garbling with a couple of trashbags and some duct tape, if you know what you're doing.

sorry, covers over dish won't help much, bad signal caused by antenuation of signal due to rain.If covers would work, fiberglass domes over dish would fix problem(worked airport radar 25 years, rain and snow always big problem)

If you get a dish up here you will also receive a "friendly visit" from the zoning/ code enforcement officer, who won't cite you for the dish but for whatever else he can trump up while on your property. Unfortunately it is also written into the state zoning law that they can walk into your home and inspect the interior any time they want to. If he ever visits me I shall reserve the right to "educate " him as to the folly of that law.

Why dont they want people to have cable/satellite? Thats a pretty big infringement on your rights.

Downtown has an innate snobbery about those of us who live up on the hill. We are regarded as inferior to the human race becasue we choose not to live crammed together with them.

It's a round about way of controling what you see.If cable or Dish is your only means of receiving TV ,they say what you see.Until recently conservative FOX news was not shown in Canada, including Bill O’Reilly.

Up here we get the three network stations, PBS and a french channel out of Canada. That's it.

Living in California, it's funny to me how different the states and even regions of states can be. I can't imagine being told what to do with my cable, satellite, yet I live in a county where the green party holds the county seat and therefore you have to get permission to dig a hole or build a fire in your own backyard...
Anyway, I wish I had horses out here, but I don't have enough land. Live half my time in the city anyway, have to make do with watching Trail Mix.

We have 65 acres out in the boonies and they regulate it so closely you'd think it was an all-condo gated community. However, in that illustrious "downtown" region with it's one, count it, one traffic light, a school and a bar, it's in-breeding at its finest. But they get cable.

I grew up on a piece of land that didn't get cable, but it was just too far away from the cable infastructure to get cable, as far as I know there was no regulation. Well, TV is overrated anyway. Though, I'm sorry you'll have to mix Trail Mix. For anyone who is going to watch it, I found out that it starts Jan. 29 at 8:00 (that's eastern and Pacific, I think).

Thanks to the internet, you too can download TV!

True dat. Now you can even watch TV on your cell phone. That's what I want, to actually be riding a horse while watching Trail Mix on my cell phone. It's unfortunate that though the technology exists my lack of access to it means that it might as well not.
