hi,
The computer shuts downs and restarts by itself whenever i try accessing the internet, its a high speed connection. tried contacting the ISP and the compuetr vendor but nothing seems to get right and fall in place. especially when i try opening graphic applications on the internet, like dell.com or something with high end graphics or too much of animation or something, the computer restarts by iotself, can u help me with this,The problem is persistant for a long time now, tried everything possible ,will try cleaning the fan and see if the heat is creating a problem . OS-WINDOWS 98

It could be heat, but I don't think so.
Make sure that you haven't got any viruses. Try upgrading all of your drivers especially your graphics card drivers & modem.
