DVD Burner or Bios??? Stumped!!

Hey, I've got a slightly annoying problem with my computer. I have a Gigabyte gak8ns pro mobo, and an lg 16x16 multi +- burner. as of about a month ago, i could boot from cd and the bios would recognize the burner. All of a sudden, the bios stopped this. didn't flash the bios (already at the newest one as of a few months ago) and i didn't do anything to the burner or other hardware. i tried flashing the firmware of the burner, but all this did was make my burner work a bit better. So anyway, to kinda clean this all up, my bios doesn't recognize that there is a burner plugged in to secondary master, and yet windows sees it just fine, and i'm burning a dvd as i'm typing this post. any ideas? both are under warrenty, but the store will have my machine for 2 weeks if they have to figure it out. I'm stumped!!!

Can you set the secondary master to CD/DVD in the BIOS?
Have you tried Auto for the secondary master?

no, my bios is all auto... believe me, this one isn't gonna be something simple like that. Bios will not see the drive. i've even tried different ide chain, and changing slave master.

Have you tried a new cable? If you have I would suggest that the drive is faulty. Sorry.
