Reseting Password for Dell Laptop

I bought this laptop off the streets for $50 a bargain right ? But guess what, It has a Password when the laptop first boot up. I don't know how to clear if anyone knows please I will really appriciate it.

If you can get to the CMOS battery, remove it for about 30 seconds, this should clear the password.
If not, leave it out for a longer period.
I don't know what bios your laptop uses, it could be specific to Dell, but if it is something like Award or Ami have a look at this:

You could also get a BIOS password removal/change tool like this http://www.majorgeeks.com/CmosPwd_d239.html but as you seem to need the password to get to windows this one might not be much use?

you acquired a stolen computer, and want people to tell you how to crack the password on it?

It might well be stolen, but how are you going to find the rightful owner. I dought that the police would be much help, but you never know.
