OK, so about 2-3 weeks ago, my laptop stated to get a little tempermental. the power supply light will go off unexpectedly when it is plugged into the wall. Sometimes I can unplug it and plug it back in and it won't go out again, but 3/4 of the time, it wont come back on. I havent had very many problems with this laptop and it's less than a year old. It is still under waranty, but before i take it in, i just wanted to get some insights from one of the best online support sites. Thanks in advance

It sounds like it could be a faulty power cord. Can you try another lead, from the mains socket to the power supply? Some laptop power supplies just use normal kettle leads, if yours does try another.

OK, i have no idea what u just said. There is only 2 sources of power, the battery and the power cord, and there is only one place to connect the power cord.

I have three lights on the front of the laptop. 1) shows that the power cord is connected, 2) the power is turned on, and 3) that the battery is charging. While the laptop is runnig, the battery seams to stop charging and the 3rd light goes out, while the other two remain on. Its totally bizar that the 1st (plugged in) light is still on, and yet it doesnt seem to want to charge. but once i turn off the computer, sometimes the charging light will turn back on. Its definitly not a setting, cause it just started to do this out of the blue. I took a look at some of the power settings and nothing seems to look like it would control something like this.

Thanks for all the help.

UPDATE:
I took it into the store and they checked it out. They tested the power cord to se if it was putting out the right amount of power, and it was. That only left one possibility, a loose connection on the motherboard.

*sigh /cry They said it will have to be taken in and serviced. They say it might take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. That leavs me stuck with my POS desktop that still runs 98 and is slow as hell I don't know how im going to get aong with out my baby.

You will survive.
If it is a connection on the mobo, they may want to change it instead of repairing it. Depends on who you took it too.
