Hi All,

I want to add a 2nd HD from my older PC. It is a Western Digital (WD250BA - 00AGA00)
40 GB, ATA interface w/ a 40 pin connector.
My newer PC has a Seagate Barracuda ST340014A, 40 GB ( EIDE ATA - 100)
My OS is Windows XP.
I only want 2nd Drive for data storage. I have 1000's of pictures on it now. I will delete all OS ( Windows 2000 NT)
Can someone help me with the steps necessary. Jumper settings, cable connections, etc.
Thanks immensley,
AORF* in Green Valley, AZ

Set the old drives jumper to "Slave" (SL) And hook it up to the same IDE cable ( often flat and wide) as your other drive. That is if the IDE cable have 3 connectors? 1 for the mobo and 2 for HDD:s for ex.

Just remember to remove yourself of stastic electrisity, before you start working. This is done by grabbing a water tap or kitchen sink.

Also, dont forget to unplug the PC, a couple of minutes, before you start.
