Hi!

You will need a quality powersupply. And a 300W for that card together with the rest of your rig will be insufficient. Here is a good one:

ASPIRE ATX-AS500-GN ATX Daul12V (V2.03) / SLI compliant 500W Power Supply 115/230 V CB IEC 950/ TUV EN 60950/ UL 1950/ CSA 950 - Retail $59.99

This way, you will have all the power you need for future upgrades.

And I would suggest this videocard instead:

GIGABYTE GV-NX68G256D-B Geforce 6800GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail $189.00

you wont be able to run any decent graphics card with that power supply. youd have to go 3 generations back to find one. best bet is to upgrade that power supply to around 500W before video card shopping.

So if I where to get the

I would have to connect the power supply pci e thing into the graphic card?

As far as graphics cards go.....for high-end, it's the 7800GTX or the X1900XTX, but those are extreme high-end graphics solutions. The X850XT is not a bad deal at newegg.com for $227.00. It was the highest card in last generation I believe. It is quite large though.....

Anyways, most newer cards have require a direct plug to the power supply. Most likely, graphics cards will come with the card and a cable that will allow you to share a power cable with, say a hard drive or something. It plugs into the card itself and then the opposite end is split.

I have seen way to many problems with those aspire psu's to recommend anyone to buy them, I have seen two of them go out in other people's pc's so I pointed them to some slightly lower powered antecs and they are doing fine. If you want to run a decent video card with a dual core cpu, I would recommend a solid 450watt psu. Some real good brands are antec"true", enermax, or fortron. If you go with a lesser brand (which I do not recommend) you will want to get a higher power rating.

I never heard any complaints about the Aspires. But Antec, is a good choise.

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply 100Vac to 240Vac +/- 10% TUV, UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC - Retail $63.99

But as you run an AMD, you may have to get a 20 to 24 pin ATX converter for the Antec.
