Graphics Card Comparison

Hey all, My friend has a ATI 9600/9700 series graphics card in his laptop and he was wondering what this compares to in the nvidia family. Like the Geforce 6400 is comparitive to the performance of the ATI X600, what nvidia card would his ATI card compare too...thanks

ATI's Radeon 9600 and 9700 are roughly equivilent to nVidia's GeForce 6600 variations (the original and its GT counterpart). But I believe the 9600 is severely crippled by the fact it only has 4 pixel pipelines. I think the 9700 fixes this with 8 pixel pipelines.

Actually, the 9600, 9700 are previous generation cards, the geforce equiv would be the geforce go5700 series, the mobile 6600 would run circles around a mobility 9600.
