Help with reformating

Ok i have XP and i want to reformat my pc not restore it but reformat it, it didnt come with a xp cd but it does have a sticker on the side that has the code for win xp..its a compaq something, ive alredy saved everything i want on my pc so now i just need help reformating it, i have some compaq recovery disc 7 of them, that compaq told me to make when i bought this pc, so what now, i do have the xp code but no cd?
