Acorp mainboard 47865PEN problem?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just got my new motherboard and put on all the goodies; P4 3.2 Ghz processor, 2 GB DDR, Radeon 9550 video card, x-fi platinum sound card, 2 Maxtor 200GB SATA drives, 2 dvd/rw +/- drives and a 3.5" floppydrive. When I turn it on it beeps, reads through the memory, confirms hyper threading is active then briefly shows the ctrl function menu then turns off and starts all over again. If I try to touch any key it also makes it start to reboot.
I have systematically removed all the hardware and found that if I remove the video card the beeping stops, but of course I have no idea whats going on. All the components are new so? Help me Mr. Wizard!

And as you can see, your motherboard have a integrated graphic chip ( integrated videocard).
This must be disabled in BIOS. As it probably conflicts with the Radeon card.

Enter BIOS, by tapping the "Delete key" at first boot screen.
Then, use the "arrow keys" to navigate inside BIOS.

Look for a menue, called "Integrated Perpherials" or the likes.
Disable the integrated videochip there.

Also go to the menue "AGP aparture size" and set it to 128mb or 256mb. This will improve performance of the Radeon card slightly.

And as I belive you are going to install Windows, right after this? Then set the boot order for the DVD drive as no.1. You dont have to change this back afterwards, if you dont want to?

Before leaving BIOS, save the settings.

Sorry! forgot to meansion. Also check the menue " Graphic adapter priority", so it is set to "AGP/PCI" and not "PCI /AGP". Just as a precausion.

Actually, it has no onboard video, and there is no 15 pin vga port, only Comm 1 and 2 (nine pin) I've even been to the Acorp website and can't find an answer. I know what it says in the General Features but I promise there is no video, otherwise it would be an easy fix.

How is the beep order? 1 long 2 short or what?
What BIOS? AMI or Phoenix?

Posted by: Zinclone

I guess it's a short beep, and happens as soon as I turn it on, maybe 3 or 4 seconds after I turn it on. I can't seem to find any info on the BIOS.

Quote from a BIOS beep code site: # Just one beep on a AMI BIOS = One beep is good! Everything is ok, that is if you see things on the screen. If you don't see anything, check your monitor and video card first. Is everything connected? If they seem fine, your motherboard has some bad chips on it. First reset the SIMM's and reboot. If it does the same thing, one of the memory chips on the motherboard are bad, and you most likely need to get another motherboard since these chips are soldered on. #

Would like to add, try your videocard in another PC if possible.

Thats a good idea, Ill try out the video card now. Thanks for the help!
