I have several PC's, both desktop and laptop, all running XP. They are connected through a wireless router to my DSL service. Half are wireless, half are cabled to the router.
All of a sudden, one of my desktops can no longer access YAHOO, GOOGLE, and a few other sites. About 90% of the websites show okay. All the other PC's can still access any website I need.
When I try to access ANY YAHOO page or GOOGLE page, I get the "PAGE NOT FOUND" message. Also, when I go to the PROGRAMS->SEARCH FIILES screen, I get the screen and the doggie, but no lettering at all. I run into about one website out of ten that I cannot access. However, all the other PC's have no problem. I compared the 'Internet Options' for each of them, and they are all set up the same.
I have run a complate AVG Virus scan - no virus present. No new software or downloads were done within a five day period before this happened.
I have used GOOGLE to try to find a similar problem (using one of the other PC's). I hate to have to do a full backup and then a system restore to try to correct the problem (Tax time).
Anyone have ANY ideas? Or a suggestion on where to look?

- Regards;

well, sounds like windows has become corrupted. you can try a repair install before resorting to a format.
