Video Problemz Help Plz!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Alright so from a SONY HANDYCAM I copied a 20 minute film using its USB output.

By default the programs encodes an MPG with sound, the video is fine,

So we startup ULEAD VISUALSTUDIO 9(We also tried Windows movie maker, which kinda sucks actually) and in both situations after adding titles, music, a few images between scenes, the faces no longer fit with the sound on my movie... so we've gotta present this wednesday on a DVD infront of a group, and it kinda looks stupid to have our film not fit with the sound...

(About 1 second difference with the sound)

I tried converting the video into MANY formats almost everything, tried reducing video quality, making it higher, changing video types, changing audio and video codecs, changing compression method, EVEN BEFORE saving the file the project seems to have a problem with the voices....

What could I try?

There's a number of things that could be wrong:

Your original captured video could be desynched. You can scratch this one out by just watching your captured video and checking if it plays with the sound synched from start to finish.

Maybe the program you're using has a problem importing your video. Try importing your mpeg, then don't do anything with it, just save it like you normally would when it's finished. Check if it's working like it should. If it isn't, it might be a compatibility problem with your captured video format and the program. A possible solution would be to recapture the video with a different codec (if possible) or to use a different video editing program.

If that last video worked out like it should, maybe you're just doing something wrong while editing it. Most video editing programs have alot of different ways to do just about anything possible with the audio and video. Do something wrong and problems like this could occur.

If the difference between the audio and video is the same throughout the whole video you can easily fix it by telling your video editing program to delay (or advance) the audio by the amount of time it's off.
