BAD_POOL_CALLER Error Messages

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Yesterday, after un-successfully downloading a game, I keep receiving BAD-POOL_CALLER errors. As a result, every single time, I turn on my PC I receive a blue screen with this message. It gives brief instructions, recommending that, you either remove any recently installed programs in normal mode, or do the same yet in safe mode. Well, as usual, this didn’t help! I restarted my PC and tried to log on normally, no luck. I restarted again, trying to log on via safe mode and guess what, it didn’t work. So, I logged on to the Microsoft website using another computer, searching for a solution and there is nothing. We phoned Microsoft and all they say is, we can help you but it will cost, typical! Now, I result to this forum and all the techie's out there... can you help me? Have you been experienced the same problem, but were lucky to find a solution? Please, tell me your answers! Also, I am not very technical, so please keep it as simple as possible please, or I may end up making things worse.

If you are on Windows xp? Then try a repair installation of the OS. This wont affect your other installed programmes and games.
Guide here:

If this works? Then do a virus scan as soon as possible, just to be on the safe side.

I cant even get on to my desktop, how do I do this?

You dont need to.

Just read thru the guide. And then reboot. Tap the "Delete key" as soon as you see the first screen.
Then inside BIOS, scroll your way using the arrow keys too a menue called "Boot order".
Then set the CD or DVD drive as boot order no.1.
Save the setting, and drop the XP CD into the drive and reboot.

Then just follow the guides instructions.

It should say in one of the corners of the screen when you start up your computer. What kind of computer do you have?

Mines like F2. I would reccomend trying to get to Safe Mode again, it may take a few tries. What game did you download that caused this?
