A company sales rep is trying to push the AMAG PC-VID-DIRECTX XTASY XCESS 5564 64MB 256BIT AGP Video Card

as a requirement to a contract. I have a PCI-E 256ATI Radeon X600.... is this the proper equivalent or should I try buying this companies video card?

Hi !

The AMAG PC-VID-DIRECTX XTASY XCESS 5564 card I never heard of before...but as said its for the "old" AGP motherboards.

If you are planning on using this video card for gaming? I doubt it's any good. If you are upgrading an AGP rig? Get a videocard from the reknown brands as Nvidia (Geforce) Or ATI ( Radeon) This way you know what you get. And It will probalay be very hard to get driver updates for that card in the future.

And if you're not into serious gaming. Your X600 will do the job.

Edit:

I Googled for any reviews on that card. And the only thing I could find, whas some kind of PDF pricelist.

Same thing happened to me, but then I just put in XTASY XCESS 5564 64MB 256BIT AGP Video Card and it came up OK.... so I am thinking that the front part is just fluff for the company

Yepp. And the problem with such a small video memory as 64mb, is that you will get stuttering as soon as you crank up the quality settings and the resoloution for the monitor. Gaming or using any graphically advanced programme.

Todays best bang for buck videocards is Geforce 6800GS and Radeon X800GTO / GTO2 or the old X800XL
