Best m/b for P4 2.8GHz (478) with 1MB L2

Anybody have a resource?
What is the best motherboard for a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz cpu with 1MB of L2 cache and running on the FSB at 533MHz. I already identified my top choice as the Asus P4RD1-MX, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I checked on Gigabyte's site but they do not specify L2 cache on their cpu list that is supposed to work with each M/B. I know that a board/chipset that is able to handle an L2 of 512KB on a 478 pin P4 certainly may not handle a P4 with 1MB of L2.
Is there, perhaps, a list of chipset models that do and don't take 1mb? Or is it more than just the chipset that determines this capacity?
Would appreciate any elucidation.
Thanks again

Well, most motherboards for Intel P4. 478, will be able to handle a 2.8GHz 533FSB.
This s a very nice one ( Used this myself for 2 years, before I got PCI E).
ASUS P4P800SE Socket 478 Intel 865PE ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $89.99

Have lots of o.c. options in BIOS.
Stable and reliable.
Fast as H.ll
Also have "PAT". Wich will make the 865PE chipset run as fast the more expensive 875P chipset.
With a good heatsink ( I used a Thermalright XP 90), a good 50 CFM fan and some Arctic Silver Ceramique thermal paste. You can o.c. your 2.8GHz to 3.4GHz. And still have max load temps below 45C.
Edit: I used both a 2.4 Ghz Northwood P4 / 533FSB and later on a 2.8 GHz 800FSB. HT on this board.

Yes, that is a very nice motherboard! My question, however is more focused on what size of on die cpu L2 cache it can handle. 1 MB or 512KB ?
Do you know if your processor had 1 Megabyte of L2 cache or 512 Kilobytes of L2 cache on die??.
That is my biggest concern. I have tried this cpu with 1MB L2 in a few motherboards and it would not even compete POST due to having 1MB of cache. The same processor with 512KB did function.
Thanks

Yes, they should be working together.
Look at this "compatible processors" for that mobo:

I looked at a couple of other websites. And they also say that a Prescott CPU, will work totally o.k. with the P4P 800SE.

Thanks goranpaa,
I appreciate your efforts to assist. You are right!.
The Asus website does indicate this m/b supports my cpu.
Thanks again

You're welcome.

Just dont forget to get new a thermal pad for the Heatsink now. Or even better Arctic Silver Ceramique, thermal paste. Just clean the heatsink plate and CPU, with Oilfree Acetone or Isoprophyl alcohol and a lintfree cloth after removing the old pad.
If you are going for the paste? Then just apply the paste in the size of a big rice grain in the centre of the CPU. The heatsink pressure will spread it for you.
