Are you sure your DVD player can handle DVD-RWs?

Goranpaa is corect, unfortunately it is more than likely your dvd player cannot read dvd rw's. it is however likely (though by no means gaurenteed) that it will be able to read dvd -r's with proper dvd video content on.

You may want to check out the website videohelp.com. I found out the hard way that DVD players are not created equal when it comes to what type of media they are willing to play. Before you give up on your DVD creating, check out the website and see if your DVD player is compatible with the DVD media you burned to. I use Studio 9 as my DVD editor, and was going along just fine when I ran into the same problem you have described. There are other factors that can cause your DVD to work on your computer but not on the DVD player. The write to disc speed is another. It is suggested to use a slower speed when burning, even though it makes the project take longer. Good luck.

Did you burn a DVD with the standard MPEG-2 encoding on it (this is commonly known as a DVD video_TS)? This is what DVD players can read.
