I am building a home computer all new parts.
MSI K8N Neo3-F Motherboard
MSI 7300GS 256 PCI express Video Card
1 Gig Ram, Super Talent
On-board sound
Pioneer DVR 111D +/- 16DL
Western Digital 120GB , Sata 1
When installing winXP Professional , I get the following error message:
STOP: 0x0000008E ( 0xC0000005, 0x804F3A43, 0xf778B610, 0x0000000 )
Page Fault in NON-paged area
The installation fails.
Suspect problem is with video card, but how can I install the drivers for this card, if the system won't finish booting.
The boot post, checks the memory and indicates all is OK.
Sees the harddrive, DVD writer, and floppy drive.
Haven't tried anything more than just reinstalling. This means that the hard drive gets reformatted, and the install begins all over again.
HELP !!!!

any chance your mobo has an integrated graphics chip? if so you could leave the MSI card off, and install windows normally then get the driver for the MSI card and install that way...

Nope, no onboard video.

the only things on the net that refer to this STOP error are RAM related...I know you said the boot checks the memory out OK..but it maybe worth trying another couple of sticks in there if you can borrow them from another machine

Or take out one stick at the time. And see if it's just one of the sticks that's faulty?

If you think it may be the video card drivers boot in safe mode. (F8 when the system is booting up) You may be able to get into safe mode and delete the drivers, so that when you re-boot it will ask to load the drivers back in the system... then install from the disk. or download them from the website. I wouldn't think that this error is a video problem. it sounds more like memory or mobo error!!!

Mabye this site will help. It suggests that one of the RAM sticks is faulty or incompatable.

sometimes the new computers are too fast when your trying to load windows for the first time. On some new instals I have had to disable the cash in the bios to slow it down. It loads windows very slow this way but it worked every time I have done it.
