Freezes and more freezes.

Well, here's the problem. When i try to install Diablo 2, everything works fine. All of the DirectDraw tests works as well. I select the 3D Radeon one. But when i try to get into the game, a black screen comes up and then nothing happens. So after 3 minutes i opened up the Task Manager and closed the window.
I dunno why this is happening. I have lots of memory and space left, my Direct stuff is up to date. There's also this error message which popped up (only once, after that one time it never came up again) which says something like "Run.dll" error or something. I'm not a hundred percent sure, though.
Anyone can help me?

Had the same problem once, but dont remember how i solved it. will reply when i'm sure, but in the meantime, check if your graphic-card has the newest driver.
