Slower Windows Load

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This isn't at all urgent, but I'd like to see if anything can be done. My computer has been taking a couple seconds longer to load Windows. It stays at the screen with the little bar for it to go by 7-8 times, when a couple days ago, it would go to the login screen after 3-4. I have a TON of hotfixes. Does anyone know if it's the hotfixes slowing down the boot time? I know it sounds stupid, but once I know how fast my PC can start up, I really want to see it do that all the time.....

When running Windows you should get used to the slow down. The registry tends to get clogged up with rubbish. You could try a registry cleaner to get rid of the rubbish. Also, check to see what programs are running at startup. You may find that some programs don't need to run at startup. Go to Start- run & type msconfig & have a look at the startup tab. Uncheck programs that dont need to run at startup.
Also, run an adware program, such as Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.com. Run a virus scan, but I dought that will be a problem.
