compaq presario Millennium power on password

my pc has a power on password and i dont know it when i hit enter three time a key comes up and wont let me hit enter anymore until i restart the pc what is the power on password

I don't know.
This will be a BIOS password. You should be able to clear it by removing the CMOS battery from the mobo for about 30 seconds. How long have you had this machine & did you buy it second hand.
If it was second hand, the owner should have told you the password, unless it had been stolen.
