compaq presario Millennium power on password

my pc wont let me on it ask for a power on password when i hit enter three times a keys come up and it wont let me hit enter anymore until i restart the pc wht is the power on password

my pc wont let me get on, it ask for a power on password when i hit enter three times a key comes up every time then i have to restart the computer every time until i find out what the power on password what is the power on password for a compaq presario me edition computer

Where do you see this dialogue to enter the password? At the Windows Log on(Colour Logo)? During the Post? Does windows load or do you have to enter the password before windows loads?

You have to switch your pc off, open it up and remove the cmos battery. It's a small battery on the computer motherboard. Before you open the pc, remove yourself of any static electricity by holding a stainless steel tap(your kitchen tap) with both hands.
Remove the battery and leave it out for about 5 minutes. Put it back and try again. This should reset the password.
