Losing Netwrok Internet Connection

Does anyone have an idea as to what would cause our server to lose its internet connection. We use cable as our internet and it seems that periodically (every 3-4 weeks) we all of a sudden lose our connection. I have called the cable company several times about this and every time they tell me that they can ping our modem and it responds, so it must be something on our side. All I do it restart the server, and we regain connection. Ideas??

What are you running on your server to connect to the internet. Do you have a proxy server?

How long do you loose your connection? Every so often I will loose my internet connection (I have cable, too) for about 5 minutes, and then it will come back. But if its longer, it might be the ethernet adapter on the server that's the problem.
