Hi. This question is going to sound very suspicious, but, is there a way to log into windows without knowing the pasword? I promise im not trying to hack anything, and if you would rather just PM me thats ok, but it is kind of important.

Try going through safe mode & logon as the administrator. if you are lucky there was no password set as administrator. This is assuming you are using Windows XP or 2k. If this was Windows 98 or similar you could just press escape.

there is usually a guest account available as well, try that.

if there is a password, am i S.O.L.?

Sometimes there is a password reset disk. If the user made one and you can manage to find it, then you can get in. But if its Windows 98, just create a new account by typing in any name and password.

Or, you could just reformat/reinstall

If the computer is yours, and running XP, youy can use this, downloable in bootable floppy or bootalbe cd-rom format. http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

But beware this tool blanks the password, if you uses it, and you have some of your files encrypted, you will not be able to access those files.
