Volume control

For some odd reason my volume control defaults to the middle of the slidder... I have to set it to the highest setting constantly... How do I get it to stay at the top?

Make sure you're not opening up an application that resets the volume control. I know musicmatch is prone to doing this. Double check your sound settings in control panel, also make sure you have the correct speaker profile selected. Try to take a conscious note of what applications you are opening.

Sometimes you may open an application and lower the volume in it, but it may use windows volume, so you're actually lowering the windows volume.
Although its unlikley to be a trojan or something, run a virus/malware scan just to be safe.

I can't think of anything at the moment that would reset the volume... hmm
