UT: GOTY problems

Hey, I'm gonna start this out very generally because I don't really expect to find anyone who can help out, but just in case you can. I need assitance with UT:GOTY, I finally figured out how to get a private internet game going, but the other person has tremendous lag, there shouldn't be any reason for this because I'm on a reasonably fast connection(comcast cable) and my machine is plenty. If anyone has any experience or whatnot post up and I'll get more specific as we go. Thanks.
