socom 2 download

I have recently purchased socom 2. I have an internet connector for my ps2 and it works fine. But when I try to use it with socom 2 it dosent work, i get to the part when you choose a world and after that it tells yo to download something so you are able to log on. When i try to download this update it says "Download error:Timeout during download (30)" and this happens every time i try to do it. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?
