Sims 2 Error, Need Help

I can load the Sims 2 just fine, but after maybe 3 minutes of gameplay it shuts down my system and the monitor goes black except for a blue box saying:
"Frequency Over Range"
Anybody know how to make it stop doing this?

You may have the monitor refresh rate set too high. Right click your Windows desk. Choose "propertys".
Then click the "advanced" button. And then the monitor tab.
Set the refresh rate to 75 or 85 MHz, not higher.

Or if it's an older monitor it may be as low as 60!
