fixing a broken ps2 headset

does anyone know who to fix a broken ps2 headset. i have the sony one with the mute button.(http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...d=1061770059466). its my 5th headset already and it just broke(i can still talk but i cant hear out of it). I think they break when you pull on the wires a lot. i just wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix it, wethere it requires opening up the mute button thing or unscrewing things or w/e cuz i'm tired of having to constantly buy 30$ headsets(i know some people are gonna say take care of it next time, and i try to but they're just crappy made headsets) so if anyone knows/might know how to fix it, please let me know.

I have the same one as you and the same problem as you. I just fiddled with the wires and IT starting working again. I've gone threw a lot as well (Socom2 & 3 player). Hope this helps even though this is kinda a old thread.

holy moly old thread , mine had a problem in the ear piece i took it apart and resoldered a broken wire.
