Problem w/ pc after driver install

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am having problems w/ my windows mce PC.

1) Boot up/shut down became slow
2) Audio/Video is slow and stutters
3) PC overall seems slower and CPU usage is up

I have ran virus scan w/ AVG and Spyware/Adaware scans.
I have updated the video card drivers, sound card drivers, chipset drivers, installed all the latest updates. I also defraged the hard drive, ran scandisk, updated the BIOS. No new software has been installed or any new hardware. I don't notice any conflicts either so now I am completely stumped on what to do. My only other option is reinstall windows or do a system repair. I just thought I would see if anyone here knows what it could be.

What type of pc do you have? Your hardware may be overheating which would explain why your system is running slower than usual. Do you know your cpu temp?

Although you said you did a virus scan, it fits the description of an infected computer perfectly, so try some online scans like bitdefender or trendmicro.

I got it to work by doing system restore and restoring it to an earlier date. I might just run a couple other virus scans just to make sure it wasn't a virus.

In that case, you might want to "set a restore point" while it's working Then run the scans too.

Also, as a safety precausion, , download and run "Memtest" for an hour. Just to see if your RAM is o.k.
But virus, is a likely candidate.

There could have been a virus in the registry that copyed more viruses onto the files on the hard disk, which is why the system restore and a virus scan would have fixed it.

did you check ur registry / taskmanager to c what's running?

it's normally fairly easy spotting suspect files...
