Dodgy pings and corrupted downloads.

Picked up a new computer last week, all seems to be going fine except the on-board network. Whenever I download a file it says it's corrupted, in its own unique little way. I've tried several different programs from several different sources.
Regular surfing works fine, but can be kinda jittery.

I can plug my old computer into the same port on the hub, with the same cable and it will still work fine. Downloaded the latest motherboard drivers from another computer, still no dice.

I pinged an outside address (I was using my ISP's mail server) and it was very sporadic, nothing better than 100ms, and going as high as 1,500ms or just plain timing out.

Motherboard is an Asus A8N-SLI, and I'm running Windows XP.

I had the same problem... I just had to go with an external nic. It's too bad cause everything else on the mobo works great.

Ok because you were having these issues I dug a little further into this.....

It appears that this is a common complaint across the board from people who own a motherboard that uses the nforce4 chipset.

The issue appears to be with the NAM software and the onboard nic. Most people do not experience the problem after uninstalling the NAM software. I did the same... and so far pretty stable.

Thanks a bundle, I'll try it out tonight.
