I have downloaded media center on my pc four times. My 360 gives me a security code. The media center installation never asks me for a code. Needless to say I cannot connect my 360 and my PC. It checks the windows firewall. I have Norton antivirus. I think it may be the problem. I followed the Norton instructions on xboxlive.com but it says I need to allocate permissions manually to certain files. I can handle that but the directory it tells me to find is C:/windows/ehome I cannot find that on my computer. Plus in my programs list media center is not where they say it should be. It is a couple of "folders" in accessories. Any advice? If I could find the files MS wants me to permit it would be find. I also have a wireless router but I am using it wired. Thanks

I would not recomend using Norton because it hogs system resources. If you uninstall it and it connects, I would just take the easy route and get something like McAfee, AVG, or Avast. McAfee is free if your ISP is Comcast, AOL, or Verizon (I think), and AVG and Avast have free versions. There is also this Windows OneCare thing which is kind of like Norton or McAfee Internet Security, but it is still a beta version. Also, I wouldn't recomend having 2 firewalls running at once, so shut off Windows Firewall

You have to try Transcode360 nice lil tool, but as to your problem firewall's blocking it very possible.
Plus when doing what you are for a person i know im sure i had to get some sort of plugin/tool to enable it, im sure it was Media Connect, it tells you on a XBox360 as to the name of this tool.
You should be able to test this then figure it out.
