my other computer won't connect to the internet. i keep getting a blank screen that reads ALERT: www.yahoo.com could not be found.please check the name and try again. i ran a virus scan and cleaned off a virus that was there but that still didn't help. i know the wireless LAN connection is good since i am able to connect and work on my other computers(thats how i typed this). any ideas on what this could be? i ran my norton antivirus, AVG and a-squared and deleted the malewear that was there but still no luck. what should i be trying next?any help or sugestions are welcome!

u may have too many processes running at once, try CTRL+ALT+Delete and end some of the useless processes, just restart if u end something important by accident.

So the whole screen is blank? This sounds like a virus, even though you ran scans, try some online ones:
www.bitdefender.com
housecall.trendmicro.com

Proble solved. called the router folks who said just unplug the router and wait 3 minutes and plug it back in. and it worked. so does anybody know what happened?

It probably reset the router (from being unplugged) and some setting that was preventing you from accessing the internet was changed.

If you use a DSL or cable modem, resetting them every once in a while is also recommended.

check your network card, go to "START" "RUN" "CMD" "PING 127.0.0.1" and if it replys than your network card is good. after that check your cable if its good..

or do you have another defult browser? like fire fox or netscape,
cause if you have one of those as your defult browser, than you might not have access to IE..
well good luck!!!!
