Download Question

Hello all,
You know when you're on a site and you want to view a movie clip or something, where does that get downloaded to?
Is there anyway of finding out where it gets downloaded to? Do they get deleted from your system once viewed/closed?
I'm just wondering if that's the reason my harddrive is gradually decreasing in available size.
--------------
Another completely different question:
I'm changing computers soon and I was wondering if there was any way in which I don't have to lose my iTunes songs and be able to transfer them over to the new computer?
Thanks!

It usually downloads to a TEMP folder.
To delete them, while your in IE, go to Tools, Internet Options.
There's an option that says "Delete Files", which should clear out your temporary internet files.

If you are using firefox, the download window will tell you where its downloaded to.

Go to start>run> type "%temp%" and delete everything inside. Somethings will be using another person or program, and other files will be read only files, just don't delete them. Everything else is fine to delete.

or you can use the disc cleanup tool to do the same. I use a program called CrapCleaner myself. It works with Windows 98 onwards - including Windows Vista build 5342 (beta 2)!

or you could format... this frees up a lot of space. it's also using a cannon to kill a fly, and just a whole load of work for summin that could be fixed by above steps... heh

you can also limit the amount of space your Temporary Internet Files use up by using Tools | Internet Options | Temp Internet Files Button There's a slide button to limit your space.
Now if you're downloading them.. you choose the spot yer downloading .. but typically anything inline will go to Temp internet files folder.
