Files and Settings Transfer Wizard .Dat file

Hi! I usually post to the hardware forum but this is a software question..
I recently used the file and settings transfer wizard in an attempt to migrate my docs + system settings to a new installation and all I have is a .Dat file and nooooo My Docs!
This sucks, any help would be much appreciated.
Fastconv would work nicely if there was a download available of the tool that converts the .dat to something fastconv can actually use.
