PnP Mouse Drivers Gone after hibernation

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I had put my laptop into hibernation with my basic optical mouse plugged in. When I took the computer out of hibernation, the mouse lit up but did not work. The add new hardware wizard also popped up. Now windows doesn't recognize the mouse anymore, and it doesn't show up in the control pannel or the device manager. It did not come with a driver CD and I cannot find drivers. Any suggestions? Here is a link to another forum where I posted that lists everything I tried that did not work.

Try re-installing the USB port drivers.

Which device would I click uninstall in the device manager?

Go to the 'Universal Serial Bus Contollers' section. It wont hurt to un-install all of the usb parts in this section, as Windows will re-install everything after you re-boot.

This is what I see:

Generic USB Hub
Keyspan Digital Media Remote
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
SiS PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub

So I uninstall all of these?

I got it fixed. A system restore did the job.

OK, now they just dissappeared again. So do I just uninstall everything?
