Microsoft have released WMP 11 Beta. This will give you an idea how it will look and sound when Windows Vista arrives.
I must say, that for beeing a slight WMP hater, This is the best sounding one up to now. And definite the most good looking. See screenie. Windows Media Player 11 is designed to work with all versions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 including Windows XP Home Edition N and Windows XP Professional N.

Thanks for the update Goranpaa
I'm liking the sleek new design and organization, so far I really can't tell a big difference in sound between 11 Beta and 10.
And yes it is free

I recently downloaded this about a week ago. I love the way it looks and sounds. You are right. It is by far the best of the WMP.

You're welcome.
As for the sound, I listend to it in my Sennheizer headphones, (So the sound whas'nt affected by the room) And compaired it with Winamp and the latest Creative media player. Wich also is a very good mediaplayer.
Did run some classical music, Super Tramp, Crime of the century. Wich is a very good recording. Pink Floyd, Dark side of the moon. Secret Garden, Dream Catcher. And Sade, recorded in PCM. And I must say I'm pretty impressed.

Yeah, it will install over WMP 10.
Thanks.
I like progressive rock a lot.
Genesis, Pink Floyd, Kayak, Peter Gabriel, Pendragon, Barclay James Harvest, and Yes for ex.
But I listen to almost any music, except opera and modern Jazz.
For the moment its music from the 70's 80's and 90's that's played a lot.

I grabbed it a week or so ago. i didnt notice a big change in sound but i wasnt listening for one, the creative i trigues that i have arent the greatest speakers. The new look is by far better than the previous version. I really like the way the music is organized in the media library with the newer version. akes it much easier to find things. all the beta warnings scared me a bit before installing it but it has worked flawlessly.

Now if they would just come out with a version of it for Windows XP Pro X64. I've only gotten it to work with Windows Vista. (See the post about Genuine Microsoft Windows for why!)

Ive had it for a couple of weeks already, i think its pretty good, although it can be a little slow, also it crashes my games when i have it running whilt playing (i assume its this as wmp10 worked fine) but it is alot better then 10, and its sexy :P
