How can I disable flash (macromedia) content in Microsoft Internet Explorer?

I tried disabling all multimedia options in advanced internet options but this doesn't stop flash objects from being displayed.

Any ideas?

well, you can delete the macromedia program. but youd have to reinstall it to view any flash.

Most likely it's the Micromedia flashplayer and will just be listed as any other program would in the remove programs list in Control Panel. If you have another browser that uses the same program though (like Firefox) it would disable the same feature in it as well.
