I found this optimizer for AMD X2 over at AMD, when checking out updates for my AMD 64.
AMD Dual-Core Optimizer - The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core or multiple processor systems.

My X2 has been experiencing random video related BSOD's. Not so bad after installing the latest nforce drivers, I'll give this a try too, thanks!

Thanks! The dual core seemed to make very little difference until I downloaded and installed the optimizer. I don't own any newer 3D games than Descent 3 right now, but my 2D games are much faster now. Next month's investment will be in a few new games. At the moment my PC functions mostly as my link to the world (Outlook, Yahoo!, etc.) and a media center without the media center version of Windows - even though it is a killer gaming machine!

I just recently installed these drivers and they worked my computer up. =/ When i play Cs the whole spawn is all white, every single map i played in the whole map turns white. After everyother game i played while trying to minimize my computer would just make a churning sound then just randomly restart. I tried system restoring to last week, and still my computer is still the same .
