Hey guys i'm done building my new rig and I have a problem. I started to panic when my oem x700 was not working. I plugged it in refering to the mobo manual. The blue slot. Then when i plugged in my moniter nothing appeared. It didnt say anything about no connection or my moniter light would not turn green. I checked the video card if it was plugged in all the way, i tried pulling it out and putting it back in. now i am stuck with my ati 9250 PCI when i have a pci EXPRESS card sitting next to me...Could it be the option in bios where i enable pci e? for primary video?
Please help

Thanks

Does the PCI-X card have a slot for a power connector? What wattage is your PSU, may not be getting enough juice...

my psu is 430 wats and the pci x does not have a slot where u put the pci x power connecter

my psu is 430 wats and for the video card there is no pci ex connecter on it.

A 300w psu is enough to supply the X700.

Check in BIOS, if you have a PCI E slot selector? Also check if you should run that PCI E slot at 8X for a single card? Remove the 9250 after that and check if it works?
Try both slots. You cant run both cards simultaniosly. The 9250 will conflict with the X700.

I keep my fingers crossed.

=\ no luck. Still my screen is black. I guess im back to using my pci video card. I tried using the asus bios update program. It says disconnected from server. So right now im running microsoft update. Then ill try again to install my video card.

Also try downloading a fresh BIOS from ASUS home manually. Then use the bios update / flash tool to flash it. Choose "update from file" in that ASUS program.

I'm just downloading a PDF manual for your board. I will look into what settings may be possible in BIOS? Back soon.

okay ill try that i hope it works. I couldnt find the update for my bios.
The model type is A8NSLI-B
the rom is SST 49LF004A/B/3.3V
Im so anxious in trying out my video card >_<

Also check if the EZ plug is set to single videocard? It should be as default. But you never know. Read about the EZ plug in the mobo manual. That is the only thing I could find, that have any inpact on 2 or 1 videocard setups on that mobo.

If nothing of this works? I.e Bios flash, Checking the EZ plug etc. I suggest you contact ASUS support. And if they cant come up with a soloution. Either return the card directly, or go to a PC service station, and let them test the card for you.

Btw. Is not even the videocard fan turning on the x700?

Posted by: khmerxkid781

im going over a friend house to test out the card. The fan is running on the video card.

im going over a friend house to test out the card. The fan is running on the video card. The ez connected is on single video card.

That is a good move. Then you at least will find out if the card is healthy or not?
