DVD Player Problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I don't know if anyone can help with this or not but I just wanted to check before I threw it out. I have a Home DVD Player. It is a Classic DVD AV Reciever. I bought it a little more then a year ago and untill a few days ago it was working fine. Now from some reason the little red power light plinks but it will not turn on. I have looked around a little for some help but could not find anything. I was just checking to see if anyone knew of anything I should check before I replaced it. Thanks.

It could be that the power supply has gone faulty or a component in the psu is faulty. It is always possible that a cable has come loose somewhere inside the unit. It might be worth checking all the connections inside, but be very careful around the PSU. Even with the power disconnected, it will hold a charge & can give you a very nasty shock (voice of experience). I totally forgot this when I was looking at something once & got a bit of a shock. It can shake you up.

Yah, I got a good buzz from a playstation 2 before... If the power light is on - I doubt its a PSU problem. More likely an RCA cable/channel setting type of deal. Try a new set of RCA's.

Yeah there is no loose cables or anything. Its not the RCA cables. The power light comes on but nothing comes on the lcd screen. I have tried different cables and nothing comes on the TV screen or anything. Either way thanks guys for trying. Im just gonna ditch it. Thanks again.

Maybe it's due to condensation inside. Before sending it to the trash bin, try using a hair blower/dryer, switch it to low power then blow the hot air to the components inside. It will dry up any moisture inside, just don't overdo it.

May I know the brand and model number of the dvd? Thanks!

Brand is. . . .Classic. Model number is. . . i think. . . .E249426 or. . . . .DVHE210 or. . . . . .040992004271. I have not gotten around to trying the blow dryer but I will let people know what happens when I finally do just in case anyone is interested. Thanks for the suggestions.
