Corrupted JPG's

Here is my situation, I have had several folders of pictures on my laptop for many years and I noticed the other day that some of them do not show up on my system when I go into "thumbnail" view? If I click on the picture it seems that only half of the picture shows up, I assume this is some kind of corruption prolly due to the fact that they have been transferred from computer to computer over the years. Is there a way I can fix his? these pictures are very important to me. They are all JPG's taken from a digi cam.

I had a similar problem and the installed an old version of Adobe Photo Deluxe Business Edition II. It opened all the the stored photos and then I saved them again in the newer format with MS Digital Image 10. It's worth a try if you know someone with about a 10 year old version.

If you can transfer them to Tagged Image Files (TIF) that format is supposed to be more stable than JPEG - especially for storage and moving from one computer to another. I don't know whether Adobe products use it though.
