Maybe time for a new 1KW PSU too? lol.

Yike! And I'm not even able to afford to upgrade to a full 500 watts yet. I still make do with 400. Next thing you know they'll be putting out even faster and better cards that require 1200 watts or even 2000!

I heard that some of the G80s might use their own dedicated PSUs. But if they don't, it makes that 700 w quad SLI PSU not sound so big.

I think it's bloody crazy with a videocard using more power than the actual PC itself. Soon we can use the PC as central heater in the winter.

Also wonder how hot those cards will get when running them on full throttle? And if Nvidia have made better stock cooling this time?

SOME of us already use the PC as a source of heat in the winter - like those of us who don't need a room to be more than 65 degrees F or those of us who need to stay cooler because of health conditions. My lady friend thought I was joking, but last January I'd run my natural gas furnace only first thing in the morning while showering for the day. After that I'd turn the heat off and stay plenty warm with the heat from my PC monitor and the PC itself!

NOT KIDDING!
