^^ **** off faggot
sup uh...ok that picture is pretty sweet and I used to play that game for hours when it first came out. another cool thing about that picture is the teleport move that the chick does in that game is a lot like this move called Zero Shift that Jehuty gets at the end of ZOE2 and it's pretty kickin rad and he saved the whole ****ing solar system with it.
what's the source though?
also you shouldn't bandwidth-leech from SA unless they ok'd it or somethin.
also, I was awake last night when this was posted. but I was looking for a site, some where, anywhere that sells ZOE posters. I've found lots of ZOE 2167 Idolo "wallscrolls" but I'm looking for one like I photoshopped into this pic of me when I was like a freshman in High School.
http://www.darkintellect.com/altron/IMG_2201.jpg
it took me a while to get that facial expression right
I remember, years ago, seeing a bunch of posters just like that on eBay but I was too young and didn't have a banking account so I didn't really think I'd need it.
BUT OH GOD THE LONGERERERINGING

no!!

Fixed the linking so it's no longer SA-leeching. The source is from the Photoshop Phriday last week:
Power-Ups in Real Life
It's at the bottom of the second page. The Final Fanta one is pretty funny too.
In other news I need to get ZOE2. I beat ZOE a long time ago and never found the sequel.
Posted by: uh...ok
And for you young'uns who don't get the reference:

ENJOY
Posted by: AltronHGX
get it on Amazon.com. they have shitloads of copies.
also the reason you don't find any in the game stores is because everyone bought them all up and then they destroyed the mint because such perfection would cause untold chaos if distributed in superfluous amounts.
right, taco
also, post in the sweet threads at the bottom of this page under "similar threads"

I tried to post in the "Altron got pwned" thread but couldn't.

I just bought a brand new one from some place on eBay.
Let's hope they're not trixery.

And opened up.

I'm thinking that this place I ordered from is a little sketchy though. The manual has a couple small wrinkles in it, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was a used/preplayed or preopened that was maintained well and then resealed to be sold as new.
Posted by: AltronHGX
One of my favorite touches in the game is something that they never actually tell you you can do in the game. I think in page 28 or so of the manual it tells you that you can actually respond to ADA this time in-game by pressing R3 and L3 to give her a negative or positive response to her comments and recommendations.
She learns how you play if you use it enough and will begin to switch your subweapons in and out for you if you let her.
omg.
Also, I want a Google cup.
Posted by: uh...ok
Yeah, I'm not sure how I'm gonna handle the response thing yet, since I don't know what's the best setup for an encounter. Maybe I'll just say yes to everything.
The enemies seem to be harder this time, or maybe it's just that there's more of them. I can't just do dash attacks and pwn and never get hurt anymore.
I have a stack of cups, but only one yellow one. All the rest are blue.
Posted by: AltronHGX
My advice is to use all your attacks all the time. Unlike ZOE1 everything is very very useful this time. In ZOE1 everything you got was useless. All of your long range attacks that weren't your King Sized Energy Ball (KSEB) were useless and blocked.
ZOE2 fixes this and yes, it is harder, learn to block and throw. Throwing is awesome this time.
edit: just to be clear, you can respond to everything she says while you're in control. Even when she says "Obtained Metatron." you can be like "Good!" or *sigh*...
Posted by: uh...ok
Yeah... wow, I just barely beat Leo after 3 tries. Getting hit by the missiles = getting hit by more missiles for more damage.
Posted by: TheeMon
whered u get google cups? and price? be it blue or yellow(actually id like blue anyway)
omg idea ots cups? hahs... ok im tired bye
Posted by: uh...ok
They were given to me.
omg I'm stuck on the fight against Ardjet controlled by Viola's AI. SO FREAKIN ANNOYING. She keeps killing herself....
Posted by: uh...ok
Okay this is ridiculous. Even with perfect play there's a 9/10 chance that she kills herself before you can even get through half the AI bar.
Whoever designed this boss needs to shoot themselves in the face.
Posted by: AltronHGX
no you're just not doing it right. If Ken starts screaming and her health is draining super fast just smack her with your sword once.
all I do for this fight is:
parry,parry,parry,parry,grab
she does her wisps thing and I dispatch them all with a very spread out phalanx burst
parry,parry,parry,parry,grab
she does her huge laser thing, just avoid that
repeat until she's deleted
what did you think of that first Anubis encounter? oh man I didn't expect that so early
Posted by: Bishop
man I'm going to have to start fagging up this thread with castlevania or mortal kombat or something if you fags keep fagging it up like this.

I haven't found a Castlevania as good as CotM yet. Sigh, that was a fun game... it's just too bad that I've played it out entirely.

Knowing that would have helped a lot, hahaha.
I didn't use phalanx against the wisps, though I guess I should have. I just shot at them a bunch of times with my regular attack. They chain-explode anyway. The only sub I've really been using is Gauntlet. (the fight against Nephtis right before you fight her A.I. was also very annoying because of the camera angle / difficulty of targetting her)
The fight against Lloyd was kind of annoying too. Took me a long while to get the hang of it, and even then I basically beat him by 1 hit (I find myself doing that a lot for these bosses). I'm just glad they give me full health after I die, even though we start at the middle of the fight (when everything is dark).
Posted by: uh...ok
Oh, and I just want to say that ZOE2 has some of the best music ever. It beats the first game's music by miles and miles. The one I like most so far is the music for the lame ass mission that you have to do right after you save Ken from Viola AI, where to drag her ass to safety - literally. I would have hated that part a lot more if the background music wasn't so freaking awesome.
Posted by: AltronHGX
I have a video of me beating Leo in 38 seconds or so on Extra Missions. I'm gonna try to find it.
It's pretty sad. He never had a chance.

uh, circle of the moon? best castlevania ever? what in the name of all seven jesuits are you smoking? I know SOTN wasn't everyone's favorite but even the original was way more cooler than circle of the moon.

I thought SOTN *was* everyone's favorite... I even spent 50 bucks to get it off ebay. But CotM really is better - have you never played it?
Which one is your favorite?
Posted by: Bishop
circle of the moon just screamed mediocre at me. I may actually own it, I got a few of the GBA games bundled with my DS when I picked that up, I'll give it another go based on your critical acclaims, but I busted it out with the rom back in the day (when I went through six or seven gba games a week) and felt COTM was a step in the wrong direction.
so far as favorite goes, I'm going to say dracula's curse, if only because it's october and october is "new 212.16% symphony file" month.
I've grown to appreciate the series as a whole to the point where picking an individual favorite is more or less moot because I'm liable to pick one at random and play through it at any given time.
That and I have all of the soundtracks.
And a belmont plushie.
Posted by: AltronHGX
did you get past the mine section yet?
that's right after you get ken out of that plant shaft but I dunno if you kept playing tho
do I want to use "passed" or "past" in that sentence
i'm breaking up my sentences now because the picture broke the frames
and i'm tired of scrolling

It's possible I may like it more because it's the first Castlevania game that I've really played in its entirety (same reason why I think FF7 is the best FF of all time, besides the fact that it actually is, vs. FF3/6). But as far as gameplay goes, it's practically a perfect match for me because I like Action/RPGs that allow you to have an inventory and a repertoire of spells. Not to mention lots of cool whips and shiny weapons. IMO it has one of the best character progression/magic systems I've ever seen in an Action/RPG. There's a lot more variety in the weapons and strategies you can use.
Not to say that any of the old Castlevania games weren't great, but I'd risk saying that after playing CotM and trying some of the older flavors, they were a tad boring.
But maybe I'm just too influenced by the new generation of ADDness.

Past is correct. Passed is a verb.
I did keep playing... I stopped playing today after beating Lloyd. The mine section was somewhat annoying, and it wasn't hard at all. The part where the missiles come at you ... you can actually blow the missiles up from a pretty big distance, which I thought was pretty cool (and something you could not have done in the first ZOE).
Overall I think they did a great job with ZOE2. The game is a great example of the creators learning the lessons from the first game and improving things that needed improving.
Though I still feel like the boss fights could have been designed better. They should require more skill instead of tedious repetition. Let's hope they'll improve on that in ZOE3.

I don't get it, everything you're saying you like about circle of the moon is there in symphony, only better implemented, not to mention in spades.
nevermind aria / harmony.
Although you're definitely getting me to hunt for my GBA/DS/cotm (or a rom if I don't actually own it) because if what you say is true I may be missing out on some good castlevania action.

when I used to not know where to go and listen to ken I used Decoy and all the missiles went towards that instead of me hehe
oh man there are so many ways to play this game.
Did you get mummy? and feedback on my video
Posted by: AltronHGX
also by the time you beat the game this phrase will be burned into your brain (in the good way) forever:
"FIERCE ENEMY ATTACK COMING"
Posted by: AltronHGX
oh yeah, most of your subweapons are pressure sensitive. what shocked me the most was seeing that Halberd is!

Oh shoot, I think I mixed up CotM with Aria of Sorrow.
Aria of Sorrow is the best CV game I've played - and is what I've been talking about this whole time. Goddammit, I knew I should have checked the name more carefully. I couldn't think of the name and CotM was the only one I could think of. Ha. Sorry about that. Hope I didn't get you too excited about nothing.
Posted by: uh...ok
I don't think I got Mummy or any of the secret subweapons... I didn't go out of my way to do/get anything so if there are secrets... oops.
How does pressure sensitivity work anyway... I thought that the buttons were only on or off...
Posted by: Bishop
You cold hearted bastard, and here I spent the last hour playing circle of the moon.
Posted by: uh...ok
Ahahaha, how was it?
Posted by: AltronHGX
on the PS2 every button is pressure sensitive except R3, L3, start, and select. Yes, even the dpad is.
Geyser: Firm press = very tight and accurate throw, light press = very scattered, like making a barrier.
Halberd: Firmer your press, less concentrated but longer your beam is, lighten up and it gets shorter but much thicker.
Homing Missle: Firm press prepares like 16 missiles to fire, but instantly takes exactly half of your subguage. There's a bunch of sensitivity levels for this -- decreasing two missiles at each sensitivity, I believe, until you have only 2 missilse preped to fire (good if you don't want to blow all your subguage).
just play around with them
also the only hidden subweapon in this game is Mummy, just like in ZOE1. You get it at Lloyd's City (Right after Air's Cliff).
Posted by: uh...ok
I just tried out the missiles. I think it was based on how long you hold it.
i.e. even if you tap it firmly you only fire two missiles.
Posted by: AltronHGX
You're wrong about it being about how long you hold it. You don't tap it. It's how firmly you press it. Trust me, I've played with it a million times.
If you don't believe me, press it really hard and watch how all the missiles come out (make sure you have full subgauge or you'll only get two or whatever) and slowly loosen up your hold on the button but don't let go of it--missiles will disappear until you have none.
Letting it go all at once will send 'em flying
Posted by: Bishop
the gameboy player for the 'cube was the best god damned invention since the super game boy and that machine that sprays liqueous seasoning on the bread periodically as it toasts it.
Posted by: uh...ok
I just beat it. The ending wasn't as bad as I expected, but not as good as I'd hoped. ;(
The first Anubis fight was hard until I figured out how to dodge his stupid fireballs.
And you can't skip the credits!
Posted by: AltronHGX
Why would you want to your first time? cool music and cool fmv in the back.
you can skip it on successive play. you can skip everything on successive playthroughs
Posted by: uh...ok
I didn't catch anything special about the background FMV. Maybe I'll watch the credits again.

it's weird because theydid all the translating for the anime series before the game so the shit isn't congruent
Vascillia = a city on mars, but it's Ba(c)shiria county sometimes.
My biggest annoyanceis they say Bufram instead of BAHRAM. oh and they spell Antilia (the satellite colony of jupiter from ZOE1) as Anteria
Posted by: justinious
There were misspelled words and punctuation errors. The subtitler was lazy or something. I hope it improves, because it's ****ing annoying as is.
