I have a dimensions 4300 and I had to replace the hard drive. I installed a Seagate 120 GB. When I went to install the operating system booting from the ( XP ) factory Dell Cd. I get the message NTLDR is missing press ctrl-alt-delete. When I do nothing happens. I want to get to the bios setup screen to check the booting sequence, but if I press any of the normal keys to get to the bios, F2, F12,del, etc it says keyboard failure press F1 key( nothing happens) or ( to enter setup press ctrl-alt-delete nothing happens.) Thanks for any help. I don't know if any of this has to do with the new hard drive or something is wrong with the keyboard. At any rate it will not boot to the Dell cd so I can install operating system, and I can't get to the bios setup to check the boot sequence. Thanks for any help..

You have to set the jumper on the HDD to master. It should show you a sequence right on the drive as to which pins. I had the same problem with my Seagate drive.

It might help to also have the CD drive and the hard drive each set up as "master" on separate IDE ports of the mobo. I'm not too familiar with that particular computer, but most mobos have 2 IDE ports. You aren't trying to use both the CD drive and the hard drive both on the same IDE port, are you?
