I'm travelling a lot with work right now and need a new laptop as the speed of my current one is winding me up something proper. What would you guys recommend given the following requirements:
Vital:
- £700 (or equiv. $1,300) max.
- Min.1024Mb RAM (multi-tasking capabilities)
- Wireless internet capabilities (probably a std. in today's world, right?)
Not so vital:
- Harddrive size
- Screen size although I'd like it as big as possible
- OS (Home edition is fine)
- Battery life (consider it an added bonus)
I'm willing to stretch the cost boundary by £100 (or equiv. $185) if you can prove that I'll get that much more for my buck.
Cheers!

I think it would be a good move to invest in this, despite what lappy you choose.

Thanks Goranpaa. Always the reliable.
So how does that cooling pad work. I'm assuming the cool air just penetrates the base plastic casing of the laptop??

Yepp. Such a pad is very useful with todays, often powerful lappys. Especially in the summer.
And you can swap those fans on the pad for better 60mm's if you feel the need, or just replace a broken fan.
I forgot to say that any of those lappys listed, will give you gaming ability too.
The TOSHIBA Qosmio F25, ABS MAYHEM G3 Eclipse R80 and SONY VAIO VGN-FS8900P8 is the best for gaming. But will take some toll on the battery life of coarce.
You're welcome.

But if you are more interested in good multi task ability than gaming?
Then pick one of the lappys with AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core cpu.
