I bought gauntlet legends from ebay and it looks dirty. WIll isoprepyl alcohol ruin the part of the cartridge that the machine reads if i wipe it with alcohol using a q tip? What about the circuitry thats deeper in the cartridge?

not sure , but i have an old NES and the games are relay old so i take a q tip and dip it in alcohol(rubbing alcohol) and wipe it on the board part the sticks out.I never had a problem doing it and it always worked for me.

the circuitry deeper into the cartridge should not have to be cleaned. As for the edges, a qtip and alcohol could work in a pitch, but in my experience those little cloth things used for glasses work best, although damned if I know where you'd pick some up.

If the game works fine, don't bother cleaning it. In fact you might just want to track down dark legacy for the ps2, as it includes Legends in addition to seven whole other worlds.

Your direct yet subtle insight humors me.

In my experiences with Nintendo catridges the copper circuitry has no problems with Cotton balls/qtips and alcohol. Make sure it dries ofcourse though.

I use an eraser to clean the connectors.
